Krishnajanmasthami Pooja

Sri Krishna Janmasthami Pooja is celebrated as the birthday of Sri Krishna, 08th avatar of Sri Mahavishnu. Krishna's birthday is celebrated every year by Hindus on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) of the month of Bhadrapad in the Hindu calendar.

Sri Krishna Janmasthami pooja process begins early in the day with devotees giving a bath to Sri krishna’s infant form or the Bal Gopal's idol with gangajala, pure ghee, water, honey, milk and curd. The Sri Krishna’s idol is then adorned with new clothes, flowers and precious jewellery.
Bal Gopal is then offered bhog or the festival food. Fruits, Payasa, sweet meats, milk and curd.
